Lorem Ipsum ist ein Blindtext, der in der Druck- und Satzindustrie verwendet wird. Er dient seit dem 16. Jahrhundert als Standard-Blindtext, als ein unbekannter Drucker eine Reihe von Buchstaben nahm und sie mischte, um ein Musterbuch zu erstellen. Er hat nicht nur fünf Jahrhunderte überdauert, sondern auch den Sprung in den elektronischen Satz geschafft und ist dabei im Wesentlichen unverändert geblieben. In den 1960er-Jahren wurde er durch die Veröffentlichung von Letraset-Bögen mit Lorem-Ipsum-Passagen populär und in jüngerer Zeit durch Desktop-Publishing-Software wie Aldus PageMaker, die Versionen von Lorem Ipsum enthielt.
